Robie Burleson

Robie’s passion for people and Christ are just a couple of the things you notice about him very quickly.  These passions have taken him around the world sharing the Gospel with the unreached in places such as Egypt, India and Nepal.

His roots are in East Tennessee where he was born and born again!   Robie was water baptized when he was seven and almost immediately dreamed of becoming a preacher. Two years later, Robie’s family moved to Portland, OR where church remained a critical part of his life—he was constantly sharing his faith with his new friends in Oregon.

It was during this period that another passion of Robie’s emerged—music.  Robie sang in the church choir and after learning to play the drums, played in school bands and performed with his dad’s jazz combo.  At 14, he was already a professional musician.

But it was in those teenage years that Robie started feeling lost, disconnected and drifting from the Lord.  But God stepped in again.  On his 19th birthday, Robie heard the Gospel with ‘fresh ears’ and rededicated his life to Jesus!  It was a year later, back in East Tennessee for a mission conference, that Robie felt the clear call to give up his aspirations of a musical career and to follow Jesus into missions as an Evangelist!

This call has led Robie to serve as an evangelist across Europe, Mexico, Nepal, India and the U.S.  Most recently, Robie and his wife Sandra served an extended mission for several years in Egypt where Robie’s work included coordinating ministry for Luis Palau.  His gifts of humor and prayer have enabled him to connect with the Lord regarding the everyday needs of the people, friends and strangers in his life while helping them to see that God really does love them and has a wonderful plan for their lives!

Robie and Sandra have been married for more than 30 years and they have three wonderful daughters!
