As one group of ETeamGlobal members prepare for their trip to Uganda for the Kampala for Jesus 2018 festival, another is making final arrangements for their trip to Nigeria for the Forth Forum of Nigerian Evangelists.
Founded eight years ago by Tim Robnett, the Forum is at the heart of ETeamGlobal’s mission to train new evangelists where they live so that they can be powerful voices for God in their villages, cities, nations and regions. 31 men and women are participating in this year’s Forum, with May’s trip a continuation of classes that began in February.
Classes will be taught by Mike Parker and two previous Forum Graduates – Yop Chindisu and Pastor Jeddington. They will be joined by Dr. Tim Robnett via Skype, who will lead a session on the Theology of Evangelism. Mike will teach on Communicating the Gospel while Yop teaches on Child Evangelism. Pastor Jeddington will lead a class on Training the Local Church for Evangelism. Upon completion of the Forum, the current class of 32 students will join other graduates trained by ETeamGlobal to bring God’s word to the unsaved of Nigeria and Africa.
While in Nigeria, the students and members of ETeamGlobal will put their training to practical use, participating in street evangelism in some of the more dangerous areas near Jos. These are areas of extreme suffering, experiencing high levels homelessness, prostitutes, drug and alcohol addiction. One neighborhood sees as many as two murders a week. In February, the team planted two churches in predominantly Muslim villages—the first time those villages had ever seen a Christian church!
Mike left for Nigeria on May 3. As they prepare and while they are in Nigeria, they humbly ask for your prayers—prayer for logistics and smooth travel and prayer for their safety as they share the news of Jesus in a region that is not always open to hearing the Gospel. More importantly, they ask for prayer that those the teams come in contact with would have open minds and hearts to hear the Truth.
